Task: Control over fuel consumption at main engines 1 and 2.
Installation of a differential fuel consumption control system on 2 main engines with information output to the operator panel in the CPU. Installation of a control repeater on the bridge in conjunction with a GPS module. Output of information in CSV format to the ship’s computer.
After installing the system, a problem was detected:
Discrepancies in fuel consumption on main engines No. 1 and No. 2.
Result: In the very first months of operation, the installed system helped to identify the reasons for the discrepancy in consumption and to establish the operation of the two engines. During operation, fuel economy was up to 3 tons at each crossing.
